What a day we had! I can't believe we really took the step we did today. I am so happy to be sealed to my best friend. It is amazing to think back over the last five years and see the changes that we have made. Travis has grown so much and is such a great example for me and our children. Yesterday was our five year anniversary, so today was a perfect day to be sealed together. Five years ago I would have laughed if someone said this is what we would be doing today. I never thought it would happen. I love Travis so much. I am so glad I will be with him forever. He has such a big heart and is the best husband in the world. I wasn't to stressed about today, once the dinner got planned and ready. When we got to the temple, I started to get a little nervous. But as soon as Travis and I were back together I was good again. I even did good during the ceremony, that is until the kids came in. Then the tears started. It was neat to have them with us. Brynlee was so beautiful and so excited to be there with us. She looked like and angle. All the kids were very excited to be a part of our day. I just wish Matthew and Emily could have come also.

After we all met at our home and had a little luncheon. It was so neat to have our family and friends join us. We have had so much support over the years. Everyone that was with us today has seen us through the ups and downs and the ups again. We are very blessed to have such amazing people in our lives. Thank you to all of you. I know there were some that really wanted to be there and couldn't. Thank you to you also! We know what true friends are! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family. In laws included!! I love you all and appreciate all you do for me and Travis!

Travis--I love you baby!

New York New York

So I've been a slacker in the blogging department! Life is just too busy when you have six kids a hubby and a dog! :) Actually, I've just got to be in the right mood. I really can not believe how fast time flies. I have always been pretty good at getting my Christmas shopping pretty much done by Thanksgiving. Not this year!! I am just not mentally ready for Christmas or winter or cold or snow or anything that comes with it.

All the kids are staying busy with school and everything going on in their lives. They have all managed to stay away from the flu that has been so bad this year. I am a little bit crazy, but was determined NOT to get sick before I went on or during my trip. I was willing to try it all--gargle salt water, swab my nose with salt water, zinc capsules, major hand sanitizer, lysol wipes. I did it all and it all worked. So far so good.

On November 5 me and 4 other gals headed for New York City. This trip had been planned and paid for months and months ago so it really didn't seem real. It was an amazing trip. I can't seem to quit talking about it and looking at pictures. It was a great place. We went to Broadway shows, shopped, ate, red bus tour, shopped, food tour in Greenwich Village, run in Central Park, shopped. We even did a temple session at the Manhattan temple. We didn't skimp when it came to eating either!! We went to some AWESOME restaurants and ate well! Our all time fav had to be Hillstone. Yummy ribs that I ate with my fork! I honestly couldn't believe all the fun places to shop. I was in heaven. If I had more luggage to take it all home in, I would have been even happier. Yes, Canal Street is all it is hyped up to be. I got some WAY cute purses! Everyone has asked me what my favorite part was and I have to say without a doubt, for sure, I'd do it over again in a heart beat---Wicked!!!!

All I can say is if you haven't seen it, you really need to. Seriously! Life changing!! A Spiritual awakening!! I will no longer watch the Wizard of Oz the same again as long as I live. I love the wicked witch of the west. She is my favorite!!! I could relate to her sooooo much. I was laughing and then crying and then laughing and then crying again. WOW! It was especially fun to be watching it with friends who have stood by me through my ups and downs in my life. They are true friends. I luv them!!

Well, Thanksgiving will be at my house this year. All of my family will be with us. It is always fun to get together with them. Luckily for me, most of the food is brought with them so I don't have to cook to much.

Today I called the temple and scheduled our date to be sealed. Dec. 12, 2009!! I am so excited and can't believe that it is really going to happen. It is just amazing to look back over the last 5 years at the ups and downs and where we are now. I am so proud of Travis and the example he is to the kids. This is one of those times I just want to sing, "To those who ground me, send a message back from me. Tell them how I am defying gravity!" (if you've seen Wicked, you'll get it) I love it!

I'll post a few pictures, but they just don't even begin to describe the wonderful, fun, amazing time that I had. And it is only fitting to say how thankful I am for friends. Friends that I can cry with and laugh with and just be crazy with. Friends who make be a better person. Friends who love me because of me. Friends who are amazing examples. Friends that because I know, "I have been changed for good....."

Summer is Over :(

Matthew, Peyton, Dylan. We had such a fun summer, but it flew by way to fast. Both Peyton and Dylan made a great accomplishment! They learned how to water ski. In fact, they are so good at it, it is hard for me and Travis to get any time in now. I was very proud of them. Sydney tried twice, but is still too small I guess. I was proud of her for at least trying. We finally got a lot of hour on the boat this year and hope to still get a few more. Maybe on Friday while everyone is in school!! :)

Peyton is going to Space Camp in Georgia the end of Sept. with four other kids. He is soooo excited, but has to come up with $100. I am trying to get him to do some kind of fund raiser. We'll see what happens.

All the kids were pretty excited to start school. Peyton & Matthew are in 7th, Dylan is in 5th, Emily is in 4th, Sydney is in 1st and Brynlee will start preschool on Sept. 9. I can't believe how fast they are growing.

Travis is staying busy as executive sec. in the bishopric and really enjoys it. He went to the temple on Aug. 4 for the first time. It was really neat. The memorable part will be when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the session and he looked at me like, "See, I told you something is going to happen to that building if I go in it!" It was funny, but luckily we didn't have to leave. It was a false alarm. We are planning on being sealed along with Brynlee in Dec. or Jan. (our 5 year anniversary) YEAH!! He has come such a long way and I am very proud of him and the changes he has made. He has a huge heart and an even bigger testimony. I love you Trav!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Ok, so I've been slacking bad in the blog dept!! I am just a very busy woman during the summer. I can't imagine how I did it when I was working. I guess I just had to cut out a lot of activities. I am so glad I am able to be home and play, play, play. Well, let's see, where should I start. We have loved the boat so far this summer. We try and go out as much as we can. Our first trip was in June to Willard Bay. It was a great day and we had a ball. We have made it out to Hyrum, Newton, Sand Hallow in St. George and just recently Lake Powell. I have to brag a minute because it took Travis about 4 tries to get up on his new wake board and I got up on my first!! It was so fun.

Sydney and Brynlee enjoyed swimming lessons a few weeks ago. It really helped Brynlee not be so scared of "deep" water. She trusts that her life jacket will hold her up and she can go any where she wants. She will even jump off the boat into the water.

On the 4th of July, Travis took part in his first 15k at the Hyrum Freedom Run. He did soooo good. I think he enjoyed it and would like to do the 1/2 marathon Top of Utah, but is going to be out of town so much between now and then he doesn't think he can train for it this year. He missed the top 10 in his age group by just a few seconds and came in 11th! Good job baby!

For Brent and Alicia's retirement party, the whole family decided to take a trip. We went down to Lake Powell and had a GREAT time. Because of the "little girls" we decided not to do the house boat and rented a mobile home trailer at Bullfrog marina. Never being there before I was a little bit nervous of what to expect, but everyone told me I would just love it. OH YEAH! Everything about it was wonderful. The hot weather, the beautiful red rock and the warm water. HEAVEN!!! The kids were great and the company was so fun! Peyton and Dylan were constantly talking about how much fun it was and that we have to come again next year. They loved the cliff jumping, even Sydney amazed us with her jumping. Yes, I even loved the jumping too!! The kids even wanted to get up with us at 6:00 am to get some calm water skiing water. Matthew was a great help with the boat and Emily had to jump in the water every time we stopped the boat. I can't wait to go again.

Dylan was so brave!

Two cute little fish I found in the lake.

All the kids finally found the courage to jump.

Jim flying through the air!

Brynlee on her own special boat.

Watch out, here come the shark!
Thanks again Brent and Alicia! We were all ready for some sunshine and warmth so we headed south for a couple of days. Our kids had the whole week off so we left on Sunday. All eight of us plus the dog of course! The kids did great on the long drive down. Thank goodness for DVD players. What did we do when I was a kid? Oh yeah, slept! On Monday we went to a "glitter pit." It was a glass mine out in the boonies where some cool type of rock (don't know my rocks) was found for the temple. It was so fun. The kids loved it. We did a little bit of hiking there and then went to another spot where there are some Indian writings. Quite educational! We took the kids to Kohls and let them all pick out a summer outfit for Easter. They kind of liked that I think. We spent lots of time at a fun park that is within walking distance from the house. It was a "big kid" park with lots of fun play things that the bigger kids could play on. On Tuesday we went out to Snow Canyon. (my favorite) It was sooooo beautiful. We hiked and hiked and hiked. Our little girls are part mountain goat I think. Brynlee didn't miss a beat. Looking back, I can't believe we took her some of the places we did. She had a blast and did great. The weather was perfect! We loved playing in the sand dunes also. It felt so good. We were able to spend lots of time at the pool also. It was about 83 on Tues. Perfect for suntanning! I got a pretty good tan. Only a little sun burn for the kids. Then we headed home on Wednesday. We had a good time. Thanks to Brent and Alicia for letting us stay at their house! And thanks to Dan and Jeannie for the yummy food and letting the kids spoil the kittens!

My Little Girls

We have had a little bit of excitement in the house I guess. First, Sydney was so excited that she lost her very 1st tooth! It was such a milestone and was so brave. It popped right of her mouth while Travis was wiggling it. Then exactly one week later she lost another one!

Brynlee had a first also! I have always been able to trim her hair here and there over the past, but it was time for her first real hair cut done by a professional. She was blessed with my straight, fine hair and we all know that dad didn't help at all on that either so we had to go short. I really hope it thickens out as she gets older. Poor girl! But it sure looks cute doesn't it?

She is such a girly girl! The other first we had last week was Sydney's first dance recital. She was so excited for it. Her costume was darling and she did soooo good dancing. I have enjoyed the warm sunshine the past couple of days and wish it was here to stay. However, we live in Cache Valley so we get to wait a little while for the real nice temps like the 70s and above. Some time I think I should not watch the weather forecast and see that SL is so much warmer that us. It just makes me sad. We have been able to go outside and enjoy it the last couple of days though so that is good. I finally got around to decorating Dylan's room for his birthday. He has been upstairs for a couple of years and has never got to have his room the way he would like it. So for his birthday I bought him a new bed spread and decorated the walls for him. He was totally surprised and seems to love it. With spring comes the business of the kids activities. Soccer will be starting soon for Sydney and Dylan. Sydney has a dance recital and Peyton has a band concert both on the same night. Not sure what we are going to do there. Matthew and Emily had piano recitals a while ago and Peyton and Dylan are getting ready for theirs. I love the kids being involved, but sometimes it really gets tiring! We are looking forward to going to St. George for spring break. We are praying for warm weather. Every time we go down, we take the "unseasonably cold weather" with us. Here are a couple of pics of Dylan's room.

Blah Blah Blah

My camera is in the shop. It died on us in Hawaii so I don't have any pics to post. However, I do have to blog about winter. I HATE it. Have I ever mentioned that? Why do I live in Cache Valley you ask? Because that is where my kids need to be. The day Sydney graduates I am out of here! Hopefully the economy will be better by then and we can buy a house and find lots of work in St. George. Only 11 more years!!! My body lacks vitamin D and I can tell by my grumpy moods that I need more sunshine in my life. Thank you Travis for putting up with my winter grumpies! I love you. I also wanted to just say a little tid bit about my awesome hubby. He is so amazing. I am so glad he is my valentine. When ever I am feeling ugly, fat, lazy, or just BLAH he is always there to make me feel better. I love him. We just got home from an "amazing" trip to Hawaii. We have been on a couple fun trips to Jamaica & Mexico, but decided to go to Hawaii. I'd never been there and Travis really wanted to show me the sites. I LOVED it. We had such a fun time together. Saw some really greats sites and relaxed! We were able to spent 7 days, 8 nights on Maui. I guess it is their slow season, which seems weird to me, so there really were not a lot of people. We loved the freedom to come and go and do what ever we wanted to do. Can't do that in Jamaica or Mexico. We actually loved to get up at 7ish and go running. Plus, then we didn't feel so bad when we ate a big dinner! We did a luau, snorkeled, shopped, played in the ocean, swam with the turtles, shopped, whale watched, went to a great magic show, shopped, drove the famous "road to Hana," and even got in a Professions Skins Golf Tournament! (Travis was so excited!) We saw all the Pros. I only knew one, Jack Nicklaus. Did I mention that we shopped. So fun! We almost had to buy another carry on the bring everything home. Good thing swimming suits are little cuz we bought 4! Maybe someday we will be able to use them. We were welcomed home at 6 a.m. on Monday to a freezing cold, frost covered truck. I was ready to go back. I'm going to set up a "Hawaii" saving account cuz I am definitely going

back!

Travis swam in the water fall. We have season tickets for 4 seats and the guy next to us has 4 seats. He gave us his 4 tickets that he wouldn't be using so all 8 of us were able to go. It was so fun! The kids were great and had a blast. We usually have to split up and go to different games. It was fun to be there all together. The only bad part was the cold weather we had to walk in to get there and the Jazz lost!

We also stopped at Target and the kids were able to buy their presents for the "name" that they had. They all got great gifts for their brother or sister. It was fun to see them get excited about giving instead of receiving. It was a fun night.

Thanksgiving

We went to St. George for Thanksgiving. I can't believe she is really 6. She wanted to have a princess party so she needed a pretty princess dress to wear. She was so excited to get a new dress and looked to darn cute. As I looked at her all dressed up, it brought tears to my eyes at how fast she is growing up and how before I know it we will be getting her all dressed up for the prom. She made me a promise that "she would tell her brain to stop making her grow and that she would stay 6 forever." I only wish that was true. I've been asking her to stop growing up for the past 6 years and she hasn't listened!

Dylan and Brynlee had to dress up in their best also! Peyton turned 12 and was ordained to a Deacon yesterday. I just can not get over that he is 12. I remember being 12 like it was yesterday. I thought I was soooo big. I wish we could just freeze the clock for a moment and enjoy this age. My mother says that time goes even faster once they turn 12 because every year is a new adventure and something new. I think I am at that stage in my life where I can now say, "This is the perfect time of my life." I'm past the baby years (Brynlee is 3-1/2), but I still have my little girls to cuddle with and they still like to sit on my lap, but I also have my big kids that I can enjoy playing a good game of Skip-Bo or a Wii game and actually have to try to win. It was so fun this summer watching them learn to water ski and get braver every time we went boating.
I finally got to read Pres. Monson's talk from conference that I misses on Sunday morning. The one entitled "Finding Joy in the Journey." I LOVED IT! It is my new goal in life. It was exactly what I needed and will reread it weekly to remind me of the important things. If you haven't read or heard it, READ IT! I had the best weekend because I kept thinking of the things he said and I enjoyed every moment I had with the kids. I didn't even stress over the dumb things. (I am not a patient person.) Actually, I've had a hard time putting the Ensign down this weekend. All the talks were great and I really needed most of them. I think I must be getting old! I enjoy the Ensign??? Maybe I'm finally after 33 years realizing what is important and getting my priorities in order. I have to say that I feel like I am happier than I ever have been in my entire life. Part of that is 'cuz I choose to be, but the other part is 'cuz I know what is important and that doing my best and being the best person I can be really does bring happiness! Wow! I better get off my soap box!!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263463138529709490" style="DISPLAY: block; We had sooo much fun carving pumpkins! Do you know what the best part was, THE WEATHER! I could handle this for about 2 or even 3 more months. Then it could just warm back up to the 80s for a few more before it tops out at about 95 for July and Aug. I'm not picky, just a warm weather lover! All the kids are so excited for Halloween. Peyton has decided, with my help, that this will be his last year trick or treating. He has reached the magic age of 12 and is getting older. I have convinced him that it is still fun to stay home and help hand out candy or take the little sisters. He isn't to heart broken. All the kids in school had their parent- teacher conferences this month. All the kids are doing GREAT! I'm so glad they all love school and their teachers and get awesome grades. The two middle-schoolers love it especially. They enjoy having different classes and teachers throughout the day. They have really adjusted to it well. Even Brynlee is loving school. She started preschool and thinks she is so big now. She was so bored staying home with Mom all day and needed something to do. Sydney started dance and looks forward to Tuesdays so she can go to "dance class." Matthew and Emily are taking piano and Emily also takes dance. Peyton stays busy practicing everyday on his trombone for his band class at school. Dylan is taking a break from activities, well except cub scouts. Matthew and Peyton both turned 12 and are in Deacons quorum. Travis got to ordain Matthew which was sooo neat. I was so proud of him! Saturday morning I am planning a early morning Christmas shopping trip. It's never to early to start!!

Teddy Bear Run

On Saturday we got to be part of the Teddy Bear Run. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a fund raiser for the Children's Justice Center. Each rider enters by paying 10.00 and donating a new teddy bear or stuffed animal. About 300 riders left the Baugh Motel and drove through Sardine canyon over to Vescos in Brigham. There we picked up about 150 or so more. We rode the back roads through Honeyville and Deweyvill and on to Valley View highway back into Cache Valley ending at the fair grounds. My in laws came with us as well as a neighbor friend. It was so much fun. It is always fun to get dressed up and hang out with all the "bad boys and girls." There is such a variety of people who ride and most of them are great people and so fun to get to know. It was only the 2nd ride we went on all summer. We didn't have a very good riding year. To much boating I guess.

Catch up!

Since school has started we have started getting into a better routine. However, we are not totally ready to give up summer so we've found a few things to do. We were true red necks for a night and took Travis, Matthew and Emily to their first demolition derby in Preston. The kids loved watching the cars run into each other and Travis had even more fun people watching. You get all kinds!! Labor Day was kind of a bust with the rain and cold weather, but we did get to have my whole family over to help us eat fish and hand out. It was so fun to have my brother and sister's family here and all the cousins except Jaycee. We haven't all been together for a while. The cousins love to play video games and watch a movie in the theater room. I really wanted to take advantage of the sunshine (you never know, it may be gone soon) so on Sat. after throwing a few ideas around, we ended up driving the kids (all 6) to SL and going to the state fair. It was, well, just like every other fair. Lots of people, lots of animals, and lots of things to waste your money on. I think the kids liked it though. After that Peyton wanted to drive by the "big" buildings so we ended up at Temple Square. The kids wanted to walk around and see the sites, so we did. I think they had more fun at Temple Square (that was free) than the fair. We walked through the visitor centers and saw the reflecting pool and then took a tour of the conference center. It was really fun and they had a good time. We really didn't want to stop for dinner so made the kids suffer until we got home at 9:30 and ate mac and cheese and top ramen noodles at about 10 pm. This kids thought it was kind of cool to be eating dinner that late. It ended up being a great day and we really had some good teaching moments at the temple. However, guess where the camera was? Of course, in the truck!!!

School is starting!

School starts WEDNESDAY! I can't believe it is already here. I am NOT ready. To me when school starts, that means it is fall. Which means cold is just around the corner. Yuck! We have had soooo much fun this summer. I have loved being home with the kids. We have done so many fun things and spent a lot of time together. Our swimming suits are pretty much worn right out. We got lots of boating in as well as swimming in any water we could get in. Travis and Matthew spent 9 days in Alaska fishing. They had a blast and brought home more fish than we are ever going to eat! They really enjoyed the trip together. While they were gone, I went south to Saint George 'cuz it just isn't hot enough here for me. Mindy and Brynlee went with me. Jaycee is already down there going to school so she met up with us a lot of the time. We shopped, ate, swam, shopped, and ate some more. It was great. I didn't mind the heat at all. Jaycee had a soccer game on Sat night and it was perfect. Probably 90. The only reason I had to come home was to see Travis and the kids. Other wise I would have stayed.

Peyton and Matthew will be going to Mount Logan Middle School. Wierd. Am I that old? They are excited. Dylan is going into 4th grade and has the same teacher Peyton had. Emily is going into 3rd grade. And Sydney is going into kindergarten. I hope she is ready!

Two pitch softball starts this Wed for Travis. I love watching the games, but I'm not good enough to play. The women on the team are awesome players and I just don't quite match up. I am trying to find a place for the girls to take dance this fall and trying to decide on preschool for Brynlee also. She seems so small still. I'm not sure what to do. Check out the pics. The kids slept out on the tramp and the mosquitoes got them good. Especially Sydney!

All togher they brought
home around 800 lbs of fish!

Fun in the Sun

I can't believe it is already the 10th of July! Summer is flying by. I have had so much fun staying home with the kids. We have kept so busy and are enjoying the time together. Dylan, Emily, and Sydney just finished two weeks of swimming lessons. They all did great and love the water. Dylan is done with baseball and Matthew is in the middle of tournaments this week. We have enjoyed having Matthew and Emily all this week. On Sunday night, we went camping to Willow Flat. I decided I am not a camper anymore. I didn't really enjoy the dirt and didn't sleep at all. It could have been that Brynlee woke up several times and ended up in my bed. The sides of the tent trailer were not strapped and she fell right out onto the ground from the tent trailer. We woke up to a thud and then her crying. I felt terrible! I'd rather stay home and go on vacation in a 5 star hotel in Mexico or Hawaii once a year! Wednesday we spent the day at Hyrum Dam with Travis's family. It was a blast!!! The water was soooo warm and smooth for part of the day. We did get in some good water skiing. Emily and Matthew and Chris tried to ski. We did get Brandy, Courtney, and Sydney Star as well as our kids on the tube. However, we couldn't talk Grandma into going!:( We has a wonderful day and hope to do it again soon. Tomorrow is Travis's 20 year class reunion. I'm kind of nervous to meet people and hear stories of the past. Could be very interesting!!! It will be fun I'm sure.

We love Summer!

Well, I think summer has finally begun! I am soooo thankful for that. This week was the first of two weeks of swimming lessons for Sydney, Emily, and Dylan. This is Syd's first year and has had a blast. She is not afraid of water at all and is doing so good. We decided to go back to the pool on Tues and spent the day. All the kids had fun. Brynlee is also a little fish and had lots of fun playing. We went on the tube slide and Sydney had to go by herself. She was a little bit scared, but loved it after she finally went. Brynlee went down with me and just laughed. We had a great day and didn't get too sunburned.

Dylan is on his last week of baseball. (Yeah) Matthew has one more week. Then they both have playoffs. Emily has been playing coaches pitch and enjoys that. I will be glad when everything is over though and we can spent the nights at home.

I am working at the parade of homes Thurs, Fri, and Sat and then it is over. It has been fun to be a part of and visit with the people who come through. I have loved being home though. I am getting used to it!!! Tonight we, (Peyton, Dylan, Sydney and I) are sleeping out on the trampoline. Hope we get some sleep!!! It should be plenty warm enough! Enjoy!!

Yeah! We have all of our kids this week and are planning some fun activities. Today Travis and all the kids are going to see KungFu Panda, Travis is "Excited", Matthew has a ball game at 6:45 tonight. Tomorrow we have decided to get the boat out and try getting in the cold water, don't think many of the kids will try this, but we will see. Thursday Travis, Matthew and Peyton are going to try and catch a fish, (this will be funny watching).

This picture is just one of the many that Nicole's brother-in-law took of the family, we are currently trying to figure out all of the best ones to get them ordered and delivered, but with busy schedules and all it might take awhile.

Nicole is working for a friend of ours, he is building a 1.8 million dollar house that is in the home show this weekend, and it needs all the help it can get with cleaning, then she is going to work at the home show throughout the duration, as a matter of fact, the only thing that doesn't need help on this house is the electrical, (imagine that).

Well better say good bye for now, hope everybody gets this and enjoys it, we will try to keep it updated, so check back often.

Tomorrow we will take the camera so we can have proof of which kids actually get in the water.

Love the Earl Clan
